Modular UPS

The modular architecture of a UPS enables a flexible adaptation of UPS power to the needs. The modular UPS system is a scalable solution capable of flexible redundancy. Such as - Vertical redundancy, containing several power modules within the UPS rackmount (N+1, N+X architecture) and horizontal redundancy, expanding several UPS racks in parallel. Creating side-by-side systems also allows for further redundancy such 2N and 2[N+1] architectures. 

Each UPS power module has all the hardware and software needed for autonomous operation; a rectifier, inverter and a built-in controller. Hence, each power module can operate independently, without any need for an external controller giving increased availability.

The power module is hot-swappable which enables a seamless replacement during normal system operation with no impact on the load.  All modules are active and share the load equally.

Each power module has the automatic capability to be the master-system controller so if one module malfunctions, another will take its place without down time or a loss of UPS back up.

In a modular system, each module is lightweight, less than 20kg, enabling easy replacement by a single person.

The modular UPS system is scalable to a higher capacity by simply adding more power modules. This means that as your load grows power modules and batteries can easily be added to increase capacity and run time or to add redundancy. In most cases extra power modules can be installed in a just a few minutes and can even be fitted by the facility support staff, reducing engineering costs and implementation time.

The modular UPS can be equipped according to the current business needs, and in the future to add more power modules. The optimization of this system can significantly reduce the total cost of ownership (TCO).

Modular planning provides a great deal of flexibility in reassembling power to meet changing business needs. Independent components, standard interfaces, and simple operation saves time and cost savings when installing, deploying, reassembling, or moving modular systems.
