Li-ion Batteries

Lithium-ion batteries are more commonly used for electronics portable devices and for electric vehicles and are growing in popularity for more and more applications.

Lithium-ion batteries have less replacements, discharge at high rates, increase the time for replacement and less capacity needed for short backup times. While valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) batteries have long been the industry choice for UPS, new lithium-ion batteries offer these additional benefits while still meeting required backup runtime and are a safe and stable alternative battery option for UPS applications.

Lithium-ion batteries are generally much lighter than other types of rechargeable batteries of the same size. Lithium is also a highly reactive element, meaning that a lot of energy can be stored in its atomic bonds. This translates into a very high energy density for lithium-ion batteries.

Lithium-ion batteries can handle hundreds of charge and discharge cycles.

Lithium-ion battery demonstrates superior characteristics in UPS applications, this results in high energy density, long life, flexible installation, improved cycle life and a lower TCO.
